Enough about me though,
what do YOU think?

Most of the resources I found were written by women. Men do not openly report on the subject very often and when they do it seems to be very light heartedly. Overall I am not certain wether it is good from either male or female standpoint, because either way every person will belong to one or the other. It was easy to find information on the topic which actually made it difficult to narrow down exactly what I wanted to make use of.

It seems to be a consensus that the major reason there are so few women in architecture is that they typically leave the field to dedicate themselves to family life, but there are many other theories that appear to be very logical that each of these sources describe.

I believe that it is not just one of any of these many points, but it is a combination of the sexual discrimination because of the traditional role of male architects, the sexual harassment women receive in school and in the work force, the typical earlier retirement age of women and the obligation that many women feel the need to take care of their family even if that means leaving their their profession in architecture because it is too time demanding. But it is sure that their are not fewer women just because they leave to be a homemaker.
